Into the Greek
We know Greek yogurt is trendy, but we had no idea how popular it has become. Sales shot up more then 1,000 percent in the past three years. One reason we like it is the test kitchen is that it can stand in as a healthful alternative to mayo or sour cream. For Labor Day, try this spin on classic onion dip: We use yogurt instead of sour cream and created an appetizer that's only 78 calories and 2 grams of fat per servings.
Toss 6 unpeeled shallots and 3 unpeeled garlic cloves in 2 teaspoons olive oil on a baking sheet. Bake a 350 until soft, 20 to 30 minutes. Cool, then peel. Finely chop and mix with 1 cup plain low fat Greek yogurt, 3 tablespoons chopped chives and salt to taste. Top with more chives and serve with pita chips or your favorite chips.
Enjoy
